Team Quantities & Formation:

The number of teams will vary based upon Age Group and may change from yeartoyear. Look at www.hasletsports.org for the current seasons AllStar team count per age group. HSA only attempts to provide the AllStar experience for age groups 6U through 12U. HSA will not be able to provide an AllStar Team for any age group where no coach volunteers to coach an AllStar team.

Haslet Sports Associations objective is to provide the AllStar experience to as many kids as possible while trying to ensure it to be a positive experience. One of the primary components of a positive experience will be that each team be competitive.

Each teams coach shall determine tournament participation.

Teams shall be formed in the following manner:

  • Each team will have a Coach (see Coach Selection process below) and between one to four Assistant Coaches.
  • Only players participating in the HSA recreation leagues can participate in the AllStar experience.
  • All recreational baseball players are eligible to try out for All Stars.
  • All players will be evaluated via a tryout process and players selected based on scores during the tryout.
  • Players must try out for All Star teams in the same age group they participated in that qualifying Spring season (a player playingupinto 8U Rec may not tryout for 7U All Stars).
  • An AllStar team roster shall consist of 11 to 12 players unless modified by the HSA Baseball Commissioner
  • All Star teams are seasonal; that season typically runs from the last weekend in May through June (sometimes spilling into early July).
  • If two teams are formed within any division, the head coach with the majority vote will assume the first 5 picks of the draft. The 2nd coach will get the next 5 picks, followed by alternating picks until a team of 12 is formed.

Coach Selection:

The Coach Selection process is intended to ensure fairness and maintain the goal of providing a quality AllStar experience for all players involved. The coach selection process will consist of the following:

  • Interested Coaches must fill out an online AllStar coachs application.
  • IF INTERESTED, APPLY NOW! Applications must be completed no later than April 1st to be considered.
  • The Applicant Coach must be listed as a Head coach in the HSA recreational league age group and season applying to coach said All Star team.
  • A Head Coach cannot be the Head Coach for multiple All Star, Select, or other tournament teams during the same tournament season.
  • Head Coaches vote will be April 6th and announced by April 7th.

*When selecting players, coaches must use impartial decisions when selecting players and must select players from other teams to fill out their All-Star roster.

Additional Information:

Under no circumstance can AllStar activities interfere with any HSA recreational game, EOS tournament or other HSA scheduled activities.

Only players who played recreational baseball with HSA in the previous season are eligible to play allstar baseball representing HSA. If a substitute/guest player is needed, that player can be used from the pool of available players from HSAs previous season at the discretion of the head coach.
